Newport partner Phil Wofford presented "Lean Effects on the Supply Chain" for manufacturing executives attending the MAPI Manufacturing Operations Management Summit in Atlanta Georgia on April 11-12.
Phil spoke on the need for OEMs and Suppliers to work in a cooperative and inclusive manner to utilize LEAN techniques to drive cost out of the supply chain and to utilize mutual resources to develop innovative processes and methods within the supply and distribution networks. These efforts should result in lowered costs, increased effectiveness, and nimbleness for the company or organization.
Phil is a LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt and has considerable experience in utilizing LEAN techniques in both manufacturing and service firms. His previous experience includes three manufacturing & distribution start-ups here in the U.S. for international transplant corporations. He has received additional training in Japan, Korea, and Thailand on LEAN systems thinking and implementation.
