Jed Dunn, Carolinas partner, was a featured speaker October 22nd at the Institute of Management Consultants workshop, "How to Deal with the Age of Disruption & Super Trend" in Greensboro, North Carolina. Specifically, Jed will speak on " Enter the Consultant: Guerrillas in the Mist."

Chris Efessiou, Mid-Atlantic practice has been accepted into the Emeritus Institute of Management / MIT Sloan Management Executive Education certificate program on Digital Transformation: Platform Strategies for Success. Chris is in the first 30 days of his 100 Day Partner Startup Plan at Newport but has already discerned that the marketplace is rapidly moving toward digital transformations - from products to platforms. Fellow partners, Fred Fink and Tony Cord are seeing that first hand as one of their clients moves from being a product manufacturer to a platform offering an array of digital services. Chris is maintaining his planned, proactive approach to the market and his personal biz dev goals, but will now also be able to offer clients, the benefit of latest knowledge in this area. David Roberts was honored as ACG Denver’s “Outstanding Board Member of the Year” at the 2017 Rocky Mountain Corporate Growth Conference on April 3 and 4. Among his leadership responsibilities for ACG Denver, David lead the team that developed the program content for the annual conference and moderated a panel discussion titled “Has PE Peaked?”. This provocative discussion was well received by the 700 middle market deal makers and business executives who attended the conference.

Doug Tatum, Newport Board Group, Chairman was asked to participate in the podcast “In Process: Conversations about Business in the 21st Century,” where he commented on challenges to growth for entrepreneurial companies. Tatum who is also author of “No Man’s Land: Where Growing Companies Fail” discusses the need for entrepreneurs to be objective about what will enable them to grow. In the podcast he also outlines important areas to address including: correcting business misalignment, replacing your inner circle, moving from a cheap labor to high performance model and developing an entrepreneur-centric value proposition which is necessary to scale the business.
